In Germany, for example, we use the new, fully electric VW T6 vans to provide local Same-Day and Next-Day deliveries completely CO²-neutral upon request. This allows us to offer our customers not only fast but also sustainable delivery options.

 

Reforestation Projects: CO² Compensation with Global Impact

Skynet is engaged in reforestation initiatives worldwide to effectively offset CO² emissions:

• Partnership with Plant-My-Tree® in Germany: Since 2022, we have partnered with Plant-My-Tree® to plant trees in Germany to promote regional forests and partially offset our local CO² footprint.
• Rainforest Project in Ghana: In collaboration with our Ghana branch and the local government, we launched a large-scale reforestation project in Agogo in 2020. The goal is to plant a rainforest spanning several hectares, which, due to its location near the equator, absorbs particularly high amounts of CO². The project is fully monitored by Skynet to ensure long-term success. The traditional ruler of Agogo, an experienced partner in reforestation efforts, supports us with local expertise.

 

On the Path to “Zero”: Our Long-Term Climate Goals

Our brand goal is clear: By 2050, we aim to reduce our emissions to zero – “Getting to Zero.” To achieve this, we pursue a multi-step approach:

1. Expansion of the Electric Vehicle Fleet: We plan to increase the use of electric vehicles in additional regions such as Germany and Europe.
2. Optimized Logistics Processes: Through smart route planning and the use of our own linehauls, we reduce energy consumption for direct trips, pallet transports, and express deliveries.
